Raleigh Lions (Raleigh, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints (Ridgeland, MS), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 8-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newton County for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. Raleigh will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 11-5 non-league loss to Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, St. Andrew's Episcopal falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Pelahatchie (Pelahatchie, MS) to battle the Chiefs in a 2A Region 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Chiefs enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Pelahatchie lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Pisgah (Sandhill, MS)
