West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), 8-7 in a league test.

With the win, West Carteret upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Patriots travel to South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to battle the Cougars in a non-league test on Monday, April 10. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 10-2. South Brunswick lost 4-3 in their recent league test against Topsail (Hampstead, NC)

With the defeat, Croatan falls to 6-9 on the season. The Cougars host Havelock (Havelock, NC) to battle the Rams in a non-league test on Tuesday, April 11. The Rams come into the test with a record of 4-11.
