In Thursday's league game, the host Wakeland Wolverines baseball team scored a tight 6-2 victory over the Frisco Raccoons.
The Wolverines (11-8) will now prepare for their game against The Colony (The Colony, TX). The Cougars go into the 5A Region II District 9 game with a 13-10 record. In their last game, The Colony was overwhelmed by Lone Star (Frisco, TX), 6-0, in a league game.
The Raccoons (20-3) will now prepare for their game against Reedy (Frisco, TX). The Lions go into the 5A Region II District 9 game with a 14-9 record. In their last game, Reedy tipped Creekview (Carrollton, TX), 7-0, in a league game.
