West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots confront the Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC) in a Coastal 3A challenge, on Tuesday, April 18. West Carteret will attempt to better on its 8-4 season record.

The Cougars now have a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they host East Lincoln for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 15.
