Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Corona del Sol Aztecs (Tempe, AZ), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they host Desert Vista for a 6A Central challenge on Monday, April 10. Gilbert will face a Thunder squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Highland (Gilbert, AZ). The Thunder record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Corona del Sol falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Aztecs host Queen Creek (Queen Creek, AZ) to face the Bulldogs in a 6A Central challenge on Monday, April 10. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 19-1. Queen Creek won 6-1 in their recent league challenge against Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ)
