North Carolina High School Softball - Draughn bounces Mitchell

The Draughn Wildcats routed the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers softball squad by a final score of 7-1 in Thursday's league battle.

The Wildcats (13-1) will now prepare for their battle against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the non-league battle with a 3-10 record. In their last battle, Freedom held off Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 17-7, in a league battle.

The Mountaineers now possess a 0-9 record. They play next when they travel to Mountain Heritage for a Western Highlands 1A/2A battle on Tuesday, April 18. Mitchell will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 11-1 league win over Avery County (Newland, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 6-3.
