East Clinton Astros (Sabina, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays (Ripley, OH), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Astros now own a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Georgetown for a Southern Buckeye AA - National challenge on Friday, April 7. East Clinton will battle a G-Men squad coming off a 7-3 league win over Blanchester (Blanchester, OH). The G-Men record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Blue jays travel to Paint Valley (Bainbridge, OH) to battle the Bearcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 7. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Paint Valley lost 13-2 in their recent league challenge against Unioto (Chillicothe, OH)
