Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host George West Longhorns (George West, TX), 18-2 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 17-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Goliad for a 3A Region IV District 29 challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Taft will face a Tigers squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Mathis (Mathis, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 9-16.

With the loss, George West falls to 5-14 on the campaign. The Longhorns travel to Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX) to face the Panthers in a 3A Region IV District 29 challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 18-9. Aransas Pass lost 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Odem (Odem, TX)
