The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Greenwood Christian Hawks (Greenwood, SC) and the host Ware Shoals Hornets (Ware Shoals, SC), saw Greenwood Christian's softball squad nip Ware Shoals by a count of 7-6.

The Hawks now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wardlaw Academy for a non-league match on Thursday, April 13.

With the loss, Ware Shoals falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Hornets host Whitmire (Whitmire, SC) to face the Wolverines in a A Region 2 match on Tuesday, April 11. The Wolverines enter the match with a record of 8-5. Whitmire lost 9-5 in their recent league match against Dixie (Due West, SC)
