The Reedy Lions softball team scored 18 runs and limited the host Newman Smith Trojans to 0 in the Lions league victory on Thursday.
The Lions (17-6) will now prepare for their battle against Lone Star (Frisco, TX). The Rangers go into the 5A Region II District 9 battle with a 25-4 record. In their last battle, Lone Star topped Wakeland (Frisco, TX), 7-3, in a league battle.
The Trojans now sport a 6-16 record. They play next when they host The Colony for a 5A Region II District 9 battle on Wednesday, April 12. Newman Smith will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 8-5 league loss to Creekview (Carrollton, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 9-15.
