The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the St. John Eagles (Plaquemine, LA) and the host Assumption Mustangs (Napoleonville, LA), saw St. John's softball squad nip Assumption by a count of 4-3.

The Eagles now sport a 15-7 record. They take the field next when they host Brusly for a non-league match on Monday, April 8. St. John will face a Panthers squad coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Notre Dame (Crowley, LA). The Panthers record now stands at 22-6.

With the loss, Assumption falls to 16-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Kaplan (Kaplan, LA) to face the Pirates in a non-league match on Monday, April 8. The Pirates enter the match with a record of 27-4. Kaplan won 3-2 in their recent non-league match against Dutchtown (Geismar, LA)
