The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS) and the host Morton Panthers (Morton, MS), saw Northeast Lauderdale's softball squad achieve victory over Morton by a count of 13-2.

The Trojans now sport a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Leake Central for a 4A Region 4 match on Tuesday, April 9. Northeast Lauderdale will face a Gators squad coming off a 24-12 non-league loss to Noxapater (Noxapater, MS). The Gators record now stands at 0-14.

With the loss, Morton falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Mendenhall (Mendenhall, MS) to face the Tigers in a 4A Region 5 match on Tuesday, April 9. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 6-5. Mendenhall lost 12-2 in their recent league match against Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS)
