Perry Central Commodores (Leopold, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Providence Pioneers (Clarksville, IN), 7-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Commodores now sport a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Tell City for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. Perry Central will face a Marksmen squad coming off a 9-0 league loss to North Posey (Poseyville, IN). The Marksmen record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Providence falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Christian Academy (New Albany, IN) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Christian Academy won 15-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Portland Christian (Louisville, KY)
