Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Laurence Vikings (Burbank, IL), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Celtics now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Fenwick for a GCAC- Red challenge on Monday, April 8. Providence Catholic will battle a Friars squad coming off a 10-3 non-league win over Mother McAuley (Chicago, IL). The Friars record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, St. Laurence drops to 3-2 on the year. The Vikings travel to Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL) to clash with the Chargers in a non-league game on Monday, April 8. The Chargers come into the game with a record of 9-1. Aurora Central Catholic won 23-1 in their recent non-league game against Somonauk (Somonauk, IL)
