Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC), 9-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Gryphons face the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge, on Friday, April 8. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to better on its 6-2 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 4-1 non-league loss to Piedmont Community Charter (Gastonia, NC).

The Ironmen now have a 0-11 record. They take the field next when they host West Lincoln for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 11. Cherryville will face a Rebels team coming off a 3-2 league loss to East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC). The Rebels record now stands at 6-5.
