Alabama High School Soccer - Columbia overwhelmed by Athens

The Athens Golden Eagles smashed the visiting Columbia Eagles soccer squad by a margin of 5-0 in Thursday's league match.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Westminster Christian for a non-league match on Friday, April 8. Athens will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Madison County (Gurley, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Columbia drops to 5-5 on the season. The Eagles host Hazel Green (Hazel Green, AL) to encounter the Trojans in a 6A Area 16 match on Friday, April 15. The Trojans come into the match with a record of 10-6.
