West Jefferson Panthers (Terreton, ID) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Mackay Miners (Mackay, ID), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Sugar-Salem for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. West Jefferson will face a Diggers squad coming off a 13-4 non-league win over Shelley (Shelley, ID). The Diggers record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Mackay falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Miners travel to North Fremont (Ashton, ID) to face the Huskies in a 2A Nuclear challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. North Fremont won 19-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Lighthouse Christian (Twin Falls, ID)
