The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) and the visiting Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL), saw Mt. Vernon's softball squad nip Marion by a count of 1-0.

The Rams now sport a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Carbondale for a South Seven match on Tuesday, April 12.

With the loss, Marion falls to 9-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Goreville (Goreville, IL) to face the Blackcats in a non-league match on Monday, April 11. The Blackcats enter the match with a record of 2-6.
