The crowd at Thursday's league match between the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) and the host Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS), saw Petal's softball squad achieve victory over Meridian by a count of 14-1.

The Panthers now sport a 15-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northeast Jones for a non-league match on Monday, April 11. Petal will face a Tigers squad coming off a 8-1 non-league win over Jefferson Davis County (Bassfield, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, Meridian falls to 7-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS) to face the Warriors in a 6A Region 5 match on Friday, April 8. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 14-5. Oak Grove won 5-4 in their recent league match against Brandon (Brandon, MS)
