Ripley Tigers (Ripley, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now sport a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they host Houston for a 4A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Ripley will face a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 5-4 league win over Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 11-7.

With the loss, New Albany falls to 8-15 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Baldwyn (Baldwyn, MS) to face the Bearcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 8. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Baldwyn lost 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Pine Grove (Ripley, MS)
