The New Athens Yellow Jackets softball team scored 3 runs and limited the visiting Steeleville Warriors to 2 in the Yellow Jackets league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, New Athens improves its record to 3-4 on the year. The Yellow Jackets travel to Farina South Central (Farina, IL) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league game on Saturday, April 9. The Cougars go into the battle with a record of 6-3. Farina South Central won 8-2 in their recent league battle against Dieterich (Dieterich, IL)

The Warriors now possess a 1-6 record. They play next when they host Marissa/Coulterville for a Cahokia - Kaskaskia battle on Tuesday, April 12.
