Westmoreland Eagles (Westmoreland, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Smith County Owls (Carthage, TN), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gallatin for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 8. Westmoreland will battle a Green Wave squad coming off a 9-7 league loss to Beech (Hendersonville, TN). The Green Wave record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Smith County falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Owls host Trousdale County (Hartsville, TN) to battle the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 9. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
