Danvers Falcons (Danvers, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Saugus for a Northeast challenge on Wednesday, April 12.

With the loss, Gloucester falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Fishermen travel to Masconomet Regional (Boxford, MA) to face the Chieftains in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Chieftains enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Masconomet Regional won 5-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Wilmington (Wilmington, MA)
