The East Thunderbirds (Cheyenne, WY) softball routed the host Wheatland Bulldogs (Wheatland, WY), 9-1 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Thunderbirds (4-1) will now prepare for their bout against South (Cheyenne, WY). The Bison go into the 4A East bout with a 0-2 record.
The Bulldogs now possess a 3-7 record. They play next when they travel to South for a 4A East bout on Thursday, April 13.

Big Second Inning Propels East Thunderbirds Varsity Girls Softball Win Over Wheatland Varsity Bulldogs. Six runs in the second inning led East past Wheatland 9-1 on Friday. Trista Stehwien, Aleah Brooks, Gracie Oswald, and Lillian Vallejo each had RBIs in the big inning. East got things started in the first inning. Brooks drew a walk, scoring one run. East scored six runs in the second inning. Stehwien, Brooks, Oswald, and Vallejo each had RBIs in the frame. Vallejo was credited with the victory for East. The fireballer surrendered one run on three hits over four innings, striking out nine. Tatum Struble was in the pitcher's circle for Wheatland.
