Spectators at Friday's league match between the Sparta Spartans (Sparta, NJ) and the host Mount Olive Marauders (Flanders, NJ), witnessed Sparta's softball squad tip Mount Olive by a count of 6-0.

The Spartans now sport a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Roxbury for a non-league match on Monday, April 10.

With the loss, Mount Olive moves to 0-2 on the season. The Marauders host North Hunterdon (Annandale, NJ) to meet the Lions in a non-league match on Saturday, April 8. The Lions go into the match with a record of 3-0. North Hunterdon won 10-0 in their recent non-league match against Lawrenceville School (Lawrenceville, NJ)
