Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting St. Pauls Bulldogs (St. Pauls, NC), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Golden Tornadoes now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Whiteville for a Three Rivers 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 13. Fairmont will battle a Wolfpack squad coming off a 7-6 league win over East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC). The Wolfpack record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, St. Pauls falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host South Columbus (Tabor City, NC) to battle the Stallions in a Three Rivers 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, April 13. The Stallions enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. South Columbus won 23-0 in their recent league challenge against West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC)
