Spectators at Friday's league match between the Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX) and the visiting Connally Cadets (Waco, TX), witnessed Mexia's softball squad tip Connally by a count of 13-12.

The Black Cats now sport a 5-14 record. They play next when they travel to La Vega for a 4A Region III District 18 match on Monday, April 11. Mexia will face a Pirates squad coming off a 13-3 league loss to Madisonville (Madisonville, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 4-10.

With the loss, Connally moves to 8-14 on the season. The Cadets host China Spring (China Spring, TX) to face the Cougars in a 4A Region III District 18 match on Monday, April 11. The Cougars go into the match with a record of 13-8. China Spring won 3-0 in their recent league test against Robinson (Robinson, TX)
