In Friday's non-league outing, the host James River Knights softball team scored a close 5-4 win over the Salem Spartans.

Coming up next, the Knights encounter the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) in a Three Rivers outing, on Tuesday, April 12. James River will attempt to upgrade on its 7-0 season record. The Buffaloes enter the outing with a 1-4 record after their 10-9 league win over Radford (Radford, VA).
