Sweetwater Mustangs (Sweetwater, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lake View Chiefs (San Angelo, TX), 13-7 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 16-8 record. They take the field next when they host Levelland for a 4A Region I District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Sweetwater will battle a Lobos squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to Snyder (Snyder, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 13-14.

With the loss, Lake View falls to 7-18 on the campaign. The Chiefs host Big Spring (Big Spring, TX) to battle the Steers in a 4A Region I District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Steers enter the challenge with a record of 15-6. Big Spring won 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Estacado (Lubbock, TX)
