Spectators at Friday's league match between the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) and the host Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC), witnessed Owen's softball squad tip Madison by a count of 13-11.

The Warhorses now sport a 8-3 record. They play next when they travel to Draughn for a Western Highlands 1A/2A match on Tuesday, April 12. Owen will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 8-2 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Madison moves to 5-7 on the season. The Patriots travel to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to face the Mountaineers in a Western Highlands 1A/2A match on Tuesday, April 12. The Mountaineers go into the match with a record of 1-10. Mitchell lost 10-5 in their recent league match against Rosman (Rosman, NC)
