The West Monroe Rebels nipped the visiting Natchitoches Central Chiefs softball squad by a final score of 6-5 in Friday's non-league battle.
The Rebels (21-5) will now prepare for their battle against Captain Shreve (Shreveport, LA). The Gators go into the non-league battle with a 8-7 record. In their last battle, Captain Shreve held off Lakeside (Sibley, LA), 16-0, in a non-league battle.
The Chiefs now possess a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Pineville for a 5A District 2 battle on Monday, April 11. Natchitoches Central will confront a Rebels squad coming off a 9-6 non-league win over Notre Dame (Crowley, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 30-1.
