The Ashe County Huskies crushed the host Watauga Pioneers baseball team by a tally of 7-1 in Monday's league bout.
The Huskies now hold a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Alexander Central for a Northwestern 3A/4A bout on Friday, April 12. Ashe County will face a Cougars team coming off a 11-2 non-league win over Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-8.
Next, the Pioneers face the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout, on Friday, April 12. Watauga will attempt to advance on its 8-3 season record. The Spartans enter the bout with a 11-4 record after their 12-3 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
