East Lincoln Mustangs (Denver, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Foard Tigers (Newton, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs face the West Iredell Warriors (Statesville, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A challenge, on Tuesday, April 9. East Lincoln will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Warriors enter the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 4-0 league loss to North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC).

The Tigers now have a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host St. Stephens for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Foard will face a Indians team coming off a 9-0 league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC). The Indians record now stands at 3-2.
