Pine Grove Cardinals (Pine Grove, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Blue Mountain Eagles (Schuylkill Haven, PA), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Tamaqua for a Schuylkill I challenge on Tuesday, April 9.

With the loss, Blue Mountain falls to 5-1 on the campaign. The Eagles host North Schuylkill (Ashland, PA) to face the Spartans in a Schuylkill I challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. North Schuylkill won 10-1 in their recent league challenge against Jim Thorpe (Jim Thorpe, PA)
