The England Lions got by the visiting Hazen Hornets softball squad by a count of 9-8 in Monday's league battle.

The Lions (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against St. Joseph (Conway, AR). The Bulldogs go into the non-league battle with a 3-11 record. In their last battle, St. Joseph was edged by Nemo Vista (Center Ridge, AR), 18-15, in a league battle.

The Hornets now sport a 3-10 record. They play next when they travel to Bald Knob for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 9. Hazen will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-2 league loss to Harding Academy (Searcy, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-8.
