Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS), 17-2 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-14 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southeast Lauderdale for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Quitman will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 22-8 non-league loss to Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 10-13.

With the loss, Forest falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS) to battle the Tigers in a 4A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 14-3. Northeast Jones won 22-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS)
