Freedom Irish (Freedom, WI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Oconto Falls Panthers (Oconto Falls, WI), 6-0 in a league challenge.

The Irish now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Fox Valley Lutheran for a North Eastern challenge on Thursday, April 11. Freedom will battle a Foxes squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Xavier (Appleton, WI). The Foxes record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Oconto Falls falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Marinette (Marinette, WI) to face the Marines in a North Eastern match on Thursday, April 11. The Marines go into the match with a record of 0-1. Marinette lost 15-1 in their recent league match against Denmark (Denmark, WI)
