Freeport Pretzels (Freeport, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rockford Auburn Knights (Rockford, IL), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Pretzels now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harlem for a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Wednesday, April 10. Freeport will battle a Huskies squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Rockford East (Rockford, IL). The Huskies record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Rockford Auburn falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Knights host Belvidere (Belvidere, IL) to battle the Bucs in a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Bucs enter the challenge with a record of 0-11. Belvidere lost 11-0 in their recent league challenge against Hononegah (Rockton, IL)
