Secaucus Patriots (Secaucus, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lyndhurst Golden Bears (Lyndhurst, NJ), 9-6 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they host Rutherford for a NJIC - National challenge on Wednesday, April 10. Secaucus will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 13-0 non-league win over Ridgefield Memorial (Ridgefield, NJ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Lyndhurst falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Golden bears travel to Weehawken (Weehawken, NJ) to face the Indians in a NJIC - National challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Weehawken won 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against West Morris Central (Chester, NJ)
