Meigs County Tigers (Decatur, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), 14-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 16-2 record. They take the field next when they host Roane County for a 2A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Meigs County will battle a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 6-0 league win over Tellico Plains (Tellico Plains, TN). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, McMinn County falls to 6-9 on the campaign. The Cherokees travel to Cleveland (Cleveland, TN) to battle the Blue Raiders in a 4A District 5 challenge on Thursday, April 11. The Blue Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 12-9. Cleveland lost 8-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Baylor (Chattanooga, TN)
