The Our Lady of Mercy Academy Villagers got by the host Middle Township Panthers softball squad by a count of 2-1 in Monday's league battle.

The Villagers (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Buena (Buena, NJ). The Chiefs go into the Cape-Atlantic - National battle with a 3-0 record. In their last battle, Buena nudged Holy Spirit (Absecon, NJ), 10-0, in a league battle.

The Panthers now sport a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Mainland Regional for a non-league battle on Wednesday, April 10. Middle Township will meet a Mustangs squad coming off a 4-2 league win over Millville (Millville, NJ). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-0.
