The Monterey Wildcats the host Van Buren County Eagles softball squad by a count of 7-4 in Monday's non-league battle.

The Wildcats (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Jackson County (Gainesboro, TN). The Blue Devils go into the 2A District 5 battle with a 2-6 record. In their last battle, Jackson County was routed by Clarkrange (Clarkrange, TN), 7-6, in a non-league battle.

The Eagles now sport a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Whitwell for a 1A District 6 battle on Tuesday, April 9. Van Buren County will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Chattanooga Central (Harrison, TN). The Tigers record now stands at 6-9.
