The Bassett Bengals softball team scored 23 runs and held the visiting Patrick County Cougars to 21 in the Bengals non-league win on Tuesday.

The Bengals now possess a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Martinsville for a non-league battle on Friday, April 11. Bassett will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Patrick County moves to 0-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to Floyd County (Floyd, VA) to confront the Buffaloes in a non-league battle on Thursday, April 10. The Buffaloes come into the battle with a record of 5-1. Floyd County won 15-5 in their recent non-league battle against Christiansburg (Christiansburg, VA)
