The Merryville Panthers triumphed over the visiting Elton Indians softball squad by a count of 15-1 in Tuesday's league challenge.
Next, the Panthers meet the Grand Lake Hornets (Lake Charles, LA) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Thursday, April 10. Merryville will attempt to upgrade on its 12-12 season record. The Hornets enter the challenge with a 13-12 record after their 16-0 league win over Oberlin (Oberlin, LA).
The Indians (5-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Crowley (Crowley, LA). The Gent enter the non-league challenge with a 11-10 record. In their last challenge, Crowley overcame Northwest (Opelousas, LA), 17-0, in a non-league challenge.
