The Lufkin Panthers got by the host Whitehouse Wildcats softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Panthers meet the Nacogdoches Dragons (Nacogdoches, TX) in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge, on Friday, April 11. Lufkin will attempt to upgrade on its 20-3 season record. The Dragons go into the challenge with a 5-18 record after their 9-4 non-league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, TX).

The Wildcats (18-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Nacogdoches (Nacogdoches, TX). The Dragons go into the 5A Region II District 10 challenge with a 5-18 record. In their last challenge, Nacogdoches held off Jacksonville (Jacksonville, TX), 9-4, in a non-league challenge.
