The crowd at Wednesday's league bout between the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) and the visiting Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM), observed Wingate's softball team get by Zuni by a final score of 9-7.

The Bears (7-6) will now prepare for their bout against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Fightin Eagles go into the 3A District 1 bout with a 10-5 record. In their last bout, Navajo Prep held off Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM), 30-7, in a non-league test.

The Thunderbirds (2-11) will now prepare for their test against Shiprock (Shiprock, NM). The Chieftains go into the non-league test with a 5-8 record. In their last test, Shiprock by Aztec (Aztec, NM), 14-0, in a league test.
