Illinois High School Baseball - Southwestern wallops Calhoun

Spectators at Saturday's non-league battle between the Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL) and the visiting Calhoun Warriors (Hardin, IL), saw Southwestern's baseball squad beat Calhoun by a margin of 12-2.

Coming up next, the Piasa Birds play the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL) in a non-league battle, on Monday, April 11. Southwestern will attempt to better on its 7-4 season record. The Griffins enter the battle with a 9-3 record after their 14-0 league win over Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL).

The Warriors now sport a 1-10 record. They take the field next when they host West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] for a Western Illinois Valley - North battle on Monday, April 11. Calhoun will play a Cougars squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Liberty (Liberty, IL). The Cougars record now stands at 4-7.
