The Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) baseball the host Scott Central Rebels (Forest, MS), 10-8 in Saturday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS) in a 4A Region 5 contest, on Tuesday, April 12. Newton County will attempt to better on its 7-17 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 11-10 record after their 9-8 non-league loss to Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS).

The Rebels now sport a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they host Lake for a 2A Region 4 contest on Tuesday, April 12. Scott Central will play a Hornets squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Nanih Waiya (Louisville, MS). The Hornets record now stands at 17-3.
