Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Byron Tigers (Byron, IL), 16-3 in a league challenge.

The Cogs now own a 3-6 record. They take the field next when they host Dixon for a Big Northern challenge on Monday, April 11. Genoa-Kingston will battle a Dukes & Duchesses squad coming off a 13-0 non-league win over Fulton (Fulton, IL). The Dukes & Duchesses record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Byron falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to North Boone (Poplar Grove, IL) to battle the Vikings in a Big Northern challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. North Boone won 10-4 in their recent league challenge against Winnebago (Winnebago, IL)
