Virginia High School Baseball - Halifax County wallops Mecklenburg County

In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) baseball squad triumphed over the host Mecklenburg County Phoenix (Baskerville, VA), by a final score of 18-2.

With the win, Halifax County upgrades its record to 5-4 on the year. The Comets host George Washington (Danville, VA) to clash with the Eagles in a Piedmont game on Friday, April 12. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 1-7. George Washington won 9-4 in their recent league game against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA)

The Phoenix (1-7) will now prepare for their game against Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA). The Warriors go into the non-league game with a 9-0 record.
